Already in 1991 – shortly after my high school leaving certificate – I gained my first experience as an English interpreter.
During my studies at the Taras-Shevchenko University in Kyiv (1994 – 1997), I worked at the Ukrainian Finance and Banking School (UFBS), which was founded as a particular project of the TACIS (Technical Assistance for the Commonwealth of Independent States) programme of the European Union in 1994. At the UFBS, I interpreted in the working languages German and Russian in 10-day seminars. The topics were banking, auditing, stock markets and securities trading as well as finance and banking supervision.
From 1996 to 1997, I worked for the Military Attaché of the Austrian Embassy in Kyiv. As part of this activity, I interpreted during state visits, among other things for the President and for the Defence Minister of Ukraine, Leonid Kuchma and Valery Shmarov.
Since 1998, I have been working as a freelance translator and interpreter for international enterprises and organisations.
